Q1. Where are you from?
U.K by way of Tanzania, Africa
Q2. How did you discover copywriting?
Consciously through Frank Kern and John Carlton in 2008 – unconsciously through my dad in 2001 when he got me to write stories for his company
Q3. What forms of copy do you write?
Sales letters, emails, VSL’s, direct mail, webinars, ads, etc – pretty much all of it bar a magalogue and advertorials
Q4. What are your favorite niches to write in?
Self-help, dating, marketing, IM, and copywriting
Q5. What is the #1 lesson you've learned as a copywriter?
Remove as much fear as humanly possible for someone to take action.
Q6. Who is your favorite copywriter & why?
John Carlton – he was my first surrogate mentor and I learned a lot from him. Joe Sugarman would be a second as he stopped me from quitting writing copy and was a friend until his passing.
Q7. Do you have any recent wins to share?
There are literally too many but I’m close to hitting a billion in sales generated for clients.
One of the biggest wins ever was helping a client reformat her sales page as the first time she launched she did $45k… After my help, she did $450k from the same list and product.
I’ve also mentored a lot of great copywriters over the years and many still use my methods to succeed (Taylor Welch, Dan Meredith, Mark Kington, and many many more).
