Q1. Where are you from?


Q2. How did you discover copywriting?

I setup Irelands first online kayak shop back in 2001 and back then trying to convince people to purchase online was a much harder game than today. So I had to get creative and ended up writing more compelling descriptions about the products and the follow up emails than was provided by the manufacturers. This helped my conversion rate and I have not looked back since!

Q3. What forms of copy do you write?

Emails, Amazon and e-commerce listing copy

Q4. What are your favorite niches to write in?

I love ecommerce the best and can be compelling in most product niches

Q5. What is the #1 lesson you've learned as a copywriter?

Split testing has taught me a lot. What I think will do well is not always the one that wins the split test. So split test everything always!

Q6. Who is your favorite copywriter & why?

I like Joanna Wiebe from Copy hackers. She is fantastic at email copy and getting people to take action and convert!

Q7. Do you have any recent wins to share?

Writing copy makes me happy, so I get to win every day I write. Recently I took a cold email list of 40,000 and got the open rate up to 39% and the click through rate up to 16.5%

Q8. What would you say to a prospective client who wants to hire you?

If you want someone with knowledge of email for ecommerce, copywriting for Amazon listings or Shopify stores, my team and I would love to speak to you ;)
