Q1. Where are you from?

Honduras

Q2. How did you discover copywriting?

During the worst hurricane season in the last 30 years, I attended AdWorld in 2020 in search of guidance for writing a website. Alex Cattoni introduced a fresh perspective to marketing and revealed copywriting as one of the most valuable skills for an online business.

Q3. What forms of copy do you write?

Email and website copy.

Q4. What are your favorite niches to write in?

Beauty, e-commerce, wellness, and personal development.

Q5. What is the #1 lesson you've learned as a copywriter?

Connect first, sell later. You can’t expect people to buy from you if they don’t know and trust you first. Understanding that on the other side of the screen is another human, will make a world of a difference. Build a relationship first before sending an offer.

Q6. Who is your favorite copywriter & why?

Alexandra Cattoni is my obvious answer. Her take on empathy and values-first marketing is both disruptive and bold. Alex has a gift of delivering fresh new ideas to copywriting while also holding the highest respect and learnings of the early legends.

Q7. Do you have any recent wins to share?

I’ve been writing for a year now and have been able to build a referral-based business without lead generation or even a website. After spending years in the shadows, I want to be seen and tell my story. And just three days ago, I got my first feature on Medium!

Q8. What would you say to a prospective client who wants to hire you?

The first goal is clarifying the messaging before discussing copywriting assets to help clients rise above the noise. Then we build the copy needed to make a cohesive ecosystem with emails, ads, landing pages, sales pages, and more. I get invested in my client’s vision— it takes time to build scaleable brand messaging. So I don’t see myself working on quick fixes or one-off projects. Instead, I want to collaborate with clients who want to make a real impact.

Q9. What is a good email address for prospective clients to contact you?

acpenacopy@gmail.com
