Q1. Where are you from?
Lagos, Nigeria
Q2. How did you discover copywriting?
How I Got Into Copywriting: It was on the 1st of November 2020, shortly after the heat of the pandemic. Before now, I actually can’t say Copywriting was something I intended to do. I was fully into content writing. But wasn’t getting the results I want. I was someone who wrote for fun. Yes, It was my hobby. I would write blog posts and social media content. I would write material so fine that people would crown me with likes and comments such as congratulations, awesome, wow, keep it up, content boss, etcetera… But there was one MAJOR problem. I was broke and hungry. I was an angry man too. Just a little provocation and all hell would break loose. I was skinny and emaciated. I was ridiculed too. Just a little confrontation and I would be downcast. You would meet me and feel pity. One day, a friend of mine read my Facebook post and decided to send me a private message. “Felix, how are you doing? I’ve seen your so-much-valuable content that you’ve posted and I must say I’m impressed. Indeed you are the content boss. I’ve been following you for some time now. However, I can’t explain why, but some force prompted me to look at your profile pic. I realize you posted it a week ago. Studying it, I’m surprised. What’s wrong? Are you sick? Aren’t you eating enough?” That really floored me. I was so ashamed of myself. I replied nonetheless. “I’ve been trying, buddy. But the economy is bad. In fact, the only reason I write is to destress…but to be honest, it’s not easy for me. I don’t eat enough. Some days I barely eat, surviving on one meal a day if I’m lucky. Some days I go without food the whole day. There is no money. No employment. No mercy. I feel like giving up!” See, I was ranting. Desperate. Hopeless. But I wanted a way out of misery and my friend sensed it. He empathized with me and that was the turning point of my life. He went on to tell me how I can turn my writing brain into a money making machine. Then, He introduced me to this skill… The skill that I’m going to tell you about. The skill he said he used to woo his woman and, even better, negotiate for a fair bride price with her parents. The skill he said he used to land a high paying job in one of the biggest manufacturing companies in Nigeria where he works as a marketer, working only a few hours a day 3 days a week, to earn insane amounts of money that I won’t mention here for his safety. The skill he said he uses in his day to day life. To make friends. To make money. To bring change. To enlarge his territories. He told me how he uses this skill everywhere, and I was SOLD. Since that day, I immersed myself into learning it. Bought different courses, before I enrolled into The Foreign Copywriting Initiative by Andy Mukolo and everything changed. This is how I ended up practicing and gaining mastery in this field I am currently making waves. Impacting and growing Brands.
