Q1. Where are you from?

Nigeria

Q2. How did you discover copywriting?

My mentor explained the term to me. It’s that simple!

Surprisingly, I had been practicing copywriting while creating normal contents. I never knew that using compelling words to send an adequate dose of your message to your audience while they get to know, like and trust you—I never knew this was related to copywriting.

I am very emotional which inspires me to usually create empathetic and motivating contents that solves the personal needs of my audience. I kept on doing this till one day, my mentor requested me to write an ad that would connect new people to her brand. I portrayed her message so well using this powerful strategy of copywriting which is storytelling and after she read it, she was like, “Ann, did you know you’ve just created a copy, an amazing one at that?” and I was like, ‘What is a copy?’ and after the whole explanation I found myself walking in the path of copywriting and I’m so glad I did.

Q3. What forms of copy do you write?

I write sales funells, social media ads, Email sequences and sales letters.

Q4. What are your favorite niches to write in?

I love writing about personal development and health but I also write on other niches.

Q5. What is the #1 lesson you've learned as a copywriter?

The first lesson I learnt as a copywriter is:
Stop writing to just sell!

I’ve seen a lot of copies that is primarily targeted at selling not caring if the product is able to solve the problems of the prospects.

During my earlier journey into copywriting, I understood that fact and it is imprinted in my brand values that I write to solve a pressing need and not just to sell.

Q6. Who is your favorite copywriter & why?

Who else than ALEX CATTONI! She’s my savior.

I remember being so confused on how to build a credible portfolio, I watch different videos, read tons of articles but none could fit into what I wanted till I stumbled on her videos and I’m like, ‘Who gives such premium values for free?’

Alex Cattoni and the copywriting posse are my heroes. I learnt from her all I needed to kick start and remain effective in my copywriting journey. I still bless the day I got to know her.

How she makes copywriting seems so easy is surely commendable. Her simplistic nature is also amazing coupled with the invaluable knowledge she dispenses. She’s just incredible!

Q7. Do you have any recent wins to share?

Well, I recently started working with two brands as their irreplaceable copywriter. Copywriting has given me a whole lot of opportunities from connecting with great brands and personalities to stabilising my financial capacity.

Q8. What would you say to a prospective client who wants to hire you?
