Q1. Where are you from?
Sydney, Australia
Q2. How did you discover copywriting?
I ran my own ecommerce business for 5 years – I had a team of 5 people, however the marketing and brand messaging always sat with me. I love bringing a brand to life with personality and authenticity that customers could truly connect with.
Q3. What forms of copy do you write?
I write the stuff closest to the money. Email campaigns and automations, product descriptions, product launches, landing pages, sales pages – the exciting stuff that generates real results when done well.
Q4. What are your favorite niches to write in?
Ecommerce has a special place in my heart because it brought me into the world of marketing. I don’t focus on niche, I focus on a good product and strong brand that I can amplify and make customers fall in love with.
Q5. What is the #1 lesson you've learned as a copywriter?
Your audience are real people, not robots to be programmed to ‘buy now.’ Write with authenticity, and genuinely want to help people. The best results come from meeting the reader where they are right now, and walking shoulder to shoulder with them into a better tomorrow. When you do this properly, the sale is an inevitable next step as they understand how you can help make their life better.
Q6. Who is your favorite copywriter & why?
Shawn Twing. He understands marketing at a depth that is truly inspiring, and I stand in awe at his level of expertise. He has taught me more about the real power of words than all the other gurus combined.
Q7. Do you have any recent wins to share?
A recent apparel brand I worked with saw a 25% increase in their conversion rate, equating to $50k additional profit after working with me for 2 weeks, strengthening the copy on their website. When your brand is really dialled into the needs of your audience, magic happens.
Q8. What would you say to a prospective client who wants to hire you?
Let’s hop on a call for a chat first. I want to understand your business and get to know you. I will only work with businesses for whom I know I can deliver results. But those I do work with, build a tribe of raving fans who absolutely love you, buy your stuff, and tell their friends.
Q9. What is a good email address for prospective clients to contact you?
