Q1. Where are you from?
Stockholm, Sweden
Q2. How did you discover copywriting?
I stumbled upon a podcast interview with the famous marketer Ramit Sethi. There he talked about how human beings tend to buy based on emotion and then justify it with logic. That insight hit me like a bolt of lightning. In a flash, I saw countless life experiences in a whole new light. Naturally, I immediately signed up for his email list. And as soon as I read one of his emails, I knew this was something special. He wasn’t selling with discounts like everyone else. His engaging stories didn’t even feel like selling at all. I later found out that this skill was called copywriting, and I had to have it.
Q3. What forms of copy do you write?
Primarily email copy. (being an email marketing specialist, I hope you weren’t expecting me to say blog posts ;)).
Q4. What are your favorite niches to write in?
DTC / e-commerce
Q5. What is the #1 lesson you've learned as a copywriter?
Speak to the emo kid inside. We all have one. And like it or not, that little brat is in charge of all the big decisions. E.g., let’s say “John” (having been bullied and ignored for most of his childhood) now desperately craves to be admired by his colleagues. Then we also know why he’ll overlook the white Prius with the great gas mileage in favor of leasing the gas-guzzling yellow Hummer. Even if it means he’ll be lying awake in his bed at night with a furrowed brow, wondering how he’ll now afford next month’s rent.
Q6. Who is your favorite copywriter & why?
I have to mention three: 1) Chris Orzechowski for teaching me most of what I know about personality-driven email copywriting at the highest levels. 2) Robert Allen for being the Golden Retriever of the copywriting world. His enjoyment of copywriting and marketing drips off the page and is ridiculously infectious. 3) Daniel Throssell for being by far the most unique and innovative copywriter I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading.
Q7. Do you have any recent wins to share?
I recently helped the DTC brand ELTRA increase online revenue by 46.7% in 21 days using only email automations.
Q8. What would you say to a prospective client who wants to hire you?
Don’t worry about the time zone. I’ve worked with clients anywhere from Hawaii to Australia, and sometimes it’s even an advantage. Let’s talk.
Q9. What is a good email address for prospective clients to contact you?
