Q1. Where are you from?
Nigeria
Q2. How did you discover copywriting?
In 2019 I stumbled on a post by Anik Singal (of Lurn) where he talked about a skill that paid “big bucks” for writing. Then, I was already doing academic writing but I wanted to get out of it. So I decided to look deeper into this “new” kind of writing. It took me a while to switch from writing for academia to writing copy, but it’s been fun so far.
Q3. What forms of copy do you write?
Ads, Emails and Sales letters
Q4. What are your favorite niches to write in?
Writing for the weight loss (and health niche in general) gets me excited. But I also like to write for pet grooming and live events
Q5. What is the #1 lesson you've learned as a copywriter?
Self interest is the most powerful driver of human action. If your want to get an action from humans, tie it to their self interest.
Q6. Who is your favorite copywriter & why?
Ben Settle … His style of both writing and teaching is what you get when you pay attention to the principles and overlook the shiny objects.
Q7. Do you have any recent wins to share?
Well, I helped knock a health and wellness coach into the high 6 figures in 10 days without running ads. Just her list…
Q8. What would you say to a prospective client who wants to hire you?
On principle, if your product doesn’t work… There’s no way I can work with you. But if you have good product that really helps people… Then let’s get slinging.
Q9. What is a good email address for prospective clients to contact you?
worlderic@gmail.com
