Q2. How did you discover copywriting?
I first discovered that there is an art and science to good copywriting as an entrepreneur, initially through trial and error but eventually by studying the work of the great direct mail and advertising legends.
Q3. What forms of copy do you write?
Email, sales letters (long and short-form), blogs, product descriptions, direct mail, social, ad copy, editorial, and native advertising.
Q4. What are your favorite niches to write in?
Dietary supplements, health testing platforms, healthy lifestyle, fitness, skin care…most CPG-related content.
Q5. What is the #1 lesson you've learned as a copywriter?
Know your audience and answer their question: “what’s in it for me?”
Q6. Who is your favorite copywriter & why?
David Ogilvy: Ad legend. Gary Halbert: Engaging and persuasive style. Rosser Reves: Master of the USP (unique selling proposition). Dan Kennedy: High conversion rate.
Q7. Do you have any recent wins to share?
Over the past 20 years, I’ve helped dozens of companies identify their ideal audience, position their messages towards that audience while addressing their needs/desires, and sell over 100MM in products and services through crafting compelling copy that connects, inspires, educates, and sells.
