Q1. Where are you from?

Lisbon, Portugal

Q2. How did you discover copywriting?

I discovered copywriting in mid-2020 during the pandemic. My cold email lead gen business got crushed and I was forced to think hard about what I really wanted to do. I had a sales background and after switching to cold email led gen, I finally realized writing was the area of sales I loved the most. So I started searching for copywriting videos on YouTube and eventually came across Stefan Georgi’s work. I bought his RMBC course and quickly realized I was better suited to short-form copy. I started with a few clients on Upwork, tried a few different styles, and eventually landed on cold traffic affiliate email swipes as my favorite.

Q3. What forms of copy do you write?

I mostly write cold traffic affiliate email swipes. These are what I’ve written the most and consider my specialty. I also write FB/Youtube ads. Above all though, my favorite area of “copywriting” is actually research and Big Idea generation. I do that frequently for clients and it’s the area I love the most. I have an in-depth Big Idea discovery process which I use to find/test new hooks for emails and ads. If those Big Ideas convert on emails/ads, then we dial in the swipes, and my clients can take the Big Ideas and let their long-form copywriters experiment with releads to increase conversion rates. That’s why I prefer to stick with Big Idea generation and short form… because I get far more done in less time. It also helps my clients’ long-form writers to increase their output and write more winners in less time too.

Q4. What are your favorite niches to write in?

Alternative health and Golf

Q5. What is the #1 lesson you've learned as a copywriter?

Find out what’s working and model it. It’s so simple and definitely the biggest needle-mover for me (besides 1-on-1 feedback and mentorship). Whatever it takes to find out what’s working, do it. Sign up to lists, buy products, network, join groups, find the right mentors/mentorship programs… anything it takes to find out what’s working right now. Then organize it so you don’t just have a “big” swipe file, but a swipe file of proven winners.

Q6. Who is your favorite copywriter & why?

It’s too difficult to give just one. I have favorite copywriters for different areas. Pauline Longdon is my favorite for 1-on-1 mentorship. The way Pauline teaches both the foundations and subtleties of copywriting has had an enormous impact on my career. Stefan Georgi is my favorite for Big Ideas and hooks. His Breakthrough Ideas method is incredibly powerful and something I use frequently as part of my own process. And my top favorite right now is Todd Brown. He’s a brilliant teacher and my go-to for taking my copy from advanced to expert level.

Q7. Do you have any recent wins to share?

I’d say my biggest win is having affiliate email swipes that are still controls for Top 10 Clickbank Health offers after a year.

Q8. What would you say to a prospective client who wants to hire you?

If you need a new Big Idea for a brand new offer… or to revive a fatiguing one… get in touch and let’s have a chat.

Q9. What is a good email address for prospective clients to contact you?

christopher@torus.pt
