Q1. Where are you from?

Minnesota, USA

Q2. How did you discover copywriting?

I discovered copywriting while I was learning how to monetize my blog. I had no idea what copy was until I learned I needed an email list to start monetizing my blog. But, finding out that I needed an email list didn’t help me because I had no idea what to write in the emails or how to write it in a way that would make people want to keep reading. I loved writing and had been wanting to be a writer for so long, so when I discovered that I could write for a living. I kept learning and improving my copywriting skills.

Q3. What forms of copy do you write?

I like to write emails, sales pages, and landing pages.

Q4. What are your favorite niches to write in?

My favorite niches to write in are eCommerce and SaaS.

Q5. What is the #1 lesson you've learned as a copywriter?

The number one lesson I’ve learned as a copywriter is always to keep learning. When you get too comfortable, that’s when things can go wrong. If I keep finding ways to improve my skills and perfect my techniques, it’ll help me to write better and faster. When I can do that, then I can help my clients get to their business goals faster.

Q6. Who is your favorite copywriter & why?

Samar Owais because she’s generous with her knowledge and takes care of her people. She amazes me with her confidence and boldness as well as how she operates her copywriting business. She really opened my eyes to how much email strategy can make writing email copy so much easier.

Q7. Do you have any recent wins to share?

Yes! I recently survived a 5-week long Email Intensive with Copyhackers and became a Certified Email Copywriter. I wrote about 1k emails and spent 200+ hours learning and applying what I learned about email strategy and copy. There were times when I wasn’t sure if I was going to make it, but I didn’t give up. I kept going and did my best.

Q8. What would you say to a prospective client who wants to hire you?

Tell me about your business goals and why they are important to you right now. I want to learn more about you, your business, your product offering, and who you want to attract before I can tell you my recommendations.

Q9. What is a good email address for prospective clients to contact you?

dana@danathao.com
