Q1. Where are you from?

Philippines

Q2. How did you discover copywriting?

I discovered copywriting by accident.

A little over 3 years ago when COVID hit, our family business was shutdown along with all other businesses around the world. So, our income was heavily heavily affected.

That’s why I decided to try my luck with online jobs. I tried sharing my writing samples [blog/article that I have written for a friend’s blog] to a friend of mine who was working with a virtual assistance agency with the hopes of getting any job that is related to the only skill that I had back then.

Then with a stroke of luck, I landed my first ever client a week after I submitted my samples.

But during the onboarding, things got really interesting and nerve-racking.

When the call began, the client started talking about writing “copy” — like structures, frameworks, and so on…

And I didn’t really pay that much attention because I applied for “content writing” and I thought copywriting was for someone else in that group zoom call.

Then he asked “who’s the copywriter here”…

I didn’t even bother answering because, again, I thought I was there as the content writer.

But then, one of the facilitator of the call said “It’s Daniel”…

In my head, I was like… “what? me? Copywriter? I don’t even know what copy or copywriting is!”

All of a sudden I got really nervous because now, I know that every time the client ask any questions regarding the role, I’ll have no idea what to answer him.

So, my mind just went on auto-pilot and became a “yeah… yeah… nod… nod…” robot.

Fortunately, despite my apparent ignorance with the role, the prospective client still pushed through the 20 hour paid trial.

So after the call, I frantically asked google what copywriting was and what copywriter does.

And that’s how I discovered “Copywriting”.

Q3. What forms of copy do you write?

Facebook Ads, Emails, Landing Pages, Sales Letter, Video Ad Scripts

Q4. What are your favorite niches to write in?

E-commerce (health industry). But I would love to get into the coaching and infoproduct-centric niches.

Q5. What is the #1 lesson you've learned as a copywriter?

Copywriting is more of an “assembling pieces of information/research” than actual writing.

Q6. Who is your favorite copywriter & why?

My first client, Adam, for the simple reason that he thought me the basics of copywriting and then some which made me the direct-response copywriter I am today.

Q7. Do you have any recent wins to share?

My first client, Adam, for the simple reason that he thought me the basics of copywriting and then some which made me the direct-response copywriter I am today.

daniel.roman.quipit@gmail.com
