Q1. Where are you from?
Boise, Idaho
Q2. How did you discover copywriting?
After spiraling down the “how to make money online” rabbit hole for awhile and not really liking most of the options, I found and started reading marketing/sales/copywriting books and fell in love with copywriting. Copywriting, emails specifically, fit my personality and ideal lifestyle perfectly.
Q3. What forms of copy do you write?
Emails are my specialty! Other short form such as advertorials and ads are fun too sometimes.
Q4. What are your favorite niches to write in?
Health, tech, survival, some sports like motocross * golf. Anything that can genuinely help people in some way will peak my interest!
Q5. What is the #1 lesson you've learned as a copywriter?
Being obsessively thorough, genuinely caring about doing the best work possible & having a burning desire to continue getting better are WAY more beneficial in a copywriting career than any other “job” I’ve ever come across! Have those traits in a normal 9-5 and you’ll definitely burn out. Have those traits in copywriting (like I do ;] ), and business owners end up love working with you, and you start to love life!
Q6. Who is your favorite copywriter & why?
Myself 5 years from now. My work ethic, integrity, and overwhelming desire to continue getting better are something that I can continue chasing, and something I can always admire about myself no matter where in my career I’m at.
Q7. Do you have any recent wins to share?
Recently I’ve had some big name A-list copywriters tell me that I impressed them with some copy I sent them! I knew I liked it, but having that confirmation from industry leaders felt awesome :)
Q8. What would you say to a prospective client who wants to hire you?
I’m obsessively thorough, I genuinely care about doing the best work possible, I have a burning desire to continue getting better, and I love email copywriting! Let’s have some fun and make some big money :D Oh, and I’m NEVER late to anything… if there’s ever a time where I miss a deadline, there has been a literal emergency ????
Q9. What is a good email address for prospective clients to contact you?
devonsemailcopy@gmail.com
