Q1. Where are you from?
Bandera, Texas
Q2. How did you discover copywriting?
I began studying marketing and advertising in 1983, while working at a radio station in Beaufort, SC. I was creating (and voicing) my own copy for clients and it was the beginning of a lifelong love of copywriting, marketing, and advertising and the pursuit of excellence in this genre. I studied David Ogilvy (the Father of Advertising) and Al Ries & Jack Trout (Positioning: The Battle For Your Mind). Copywriting is not just a job for me, but a way to creatively impact the bottom line of a business. It is fun, exciting and challenging…right in my lane!
Q3. What forms of copy do you write?
Blogs, Sales Letters, Emails, Trainings, Video Sales Letters, Opt-ins, Thank You’s, Greeting cards…and more!
Q4. What are your favorite niches to write in?
Relationships, Personal Development, Small Business, Health, Wealth, Communication, What’s Trending
Q5. What is the #1 lesson you've learned as a copywriter?
Always find out the client’s expectations and exceed them!
Q6. Who is your favorite copywriter & why?
David Ogilvy is my favorite copywriter because his advertising philosophy was found in four principles: Creative Brilliance, Research, Producing Actual Results for Clients, and Professional Discipline. He said, “…it is useless to be a creative, original thinker unless you can also sell what you create.”
Q7. Do you have any recent wins to share?
I spent the last 20 years raising two grandchildren and finishing my bachelor’s degree and two MBA’s, so I’m just getting reacquainted with the creative part of my life as a copywriter!
Q8. What would you say to a prospective client who wants to hire you?
I’m excited about the possibility of writing for you and exceeding your goals! I guarantee results on which we agree or I will rewrite the copy until those results are accomplished. What day works best to get on a call and discuss your wants and needs? I’m available on Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday morning.
Q9. What is a good email address for prospective clients to contact you?
