Q1. Where are you from?
I’m based in Chester, UK
Q2. How did you discover copywriting?
After graduating in Creative & Media Writing, I was looking for a way of turning my passion for words into a career. I started working in a marketing department thinking I’d fall in love with social media management. Plot twist: I hated it! But that’s when I learnt about website copy, blog posts, and all that jazz.
Q3. What forms of copy do you write?
I specialise in website copy and blog posts that turn female entrepreneurs into THE go-to solution in their dream audience’s eyes.
Q4. What are your favorite niches to write in?
I’ve actually niched down by type of client rather than industry! I LOVE helping fellow women in business reach more people by fine-tuning their message and relying on the right SEO-friendly copy for their audience. (Plus, this means I get to write about all kinds of subjects and industries, which keeps my job interesting and varied)
Q5. What is the #1 lesson you've learned as a copywriter?
Always put your audience first! People don’t care about you: they care about what your business can do for THEM
Q6. Who is your favorite copywriter & why?
Only one?! I follow (and keep learning from) so many fellow writers. But Vicki Maguire, Mary Wear, David Abbott, and Julian Koenig wrote some of my all-time favourite ads
Q7. Do you have any recent wins to share?
As I always say, SEO takes time: reaching Google’s first page usually takes around 6 months, and it’s never a given (don’t trust anyone who guarantees otherwise!). Still, one of the blog posts I wrote climbed all the way up there in less than two weeks. Pretty sure that’s my new record!
Q8. What would you say to a prospective client who wants to hire you?
If you’ve got the perfect offer for your audience but are struggling to get results through your current copy (and you’re willing to trust me and respect my process), then I’m your girl!
