Q1. Where are you from?
Dorado, Puerto Rico
Q2. How did you discover copywriting?
I was 20 years old at Michigan State University. I was in my dorm room and knew I didn’t want to have a 9-5 life, so I wanted to find a different way out. This was 2009, so long before the world of Clickfunnels, and VSLs weren’t invented yet. I had to find a way out. What if I sold a program online based on the only thing I was an expert at, training basketball players, since I played in college? So I created an e-book and videos teaching basketball players who were in high school how to get better handles so that they could potentially get recruited for college basketball. That was the idea, $47 e-book upsells. I put it on ClickBank, people hit the site but no sales, no one bought. Severely embarrassing, didn’t want to tell anyone. Still, for the next six month, no sales. Then I met a guy named Elliott Hulse. He showed me what he was doing which re-inspired me. Then I met Craig Ballantyne who introduced me to copywriting.
