Q1. Where are you from?
Phoenix, AZ
Q2. How did you discover copywriting?
One of my first jobs, right out of high school, was working in an old-style print shop, the kind where all the employees still smiled when you walked in and a neon sign shouted “Have a great day”. None of the other employees enjoyed helping business owners figure out what to say to get people to say “yes” on their brochures and ads, but I loved it. Soon other businesses were coming in just to ask for my help with their copy, I love helping business owners Get More Customers.
Q3. What forms of copy do you write?
Email, Sales Letters, Paid Ads Copy, Advertorials
Q4. What are your favorite niches to write in?
While most of my current clients are in the B2B sector, I also service MMO and B2C. I enjoy a challenge.
Q5. What is the #1 lesson you've learned as a copywriter?
Working directly with Dan Kennedy I learned to spend 90% of my time focusing on the prospect, not the product. People love to buy if you speak to what they are already thinking and feeling.
Q6. Who is your favorite copywriter & why?
My favorite copywriter is Gary Halbert because he so often shared what he was thinking as he wrote a particular piece. I have so much great copy in my swipe file but with most of Gary’s swipes, I also have his explanation of why he wrote that piece the way he did.
Q7. Do you have any recent wins to share?
I am a full-time copywriter, emailer, and CEO of inbox.inc
