Q1. Where are you from?
England
Q2. How did you discover copywriting?
I studied Media Writing at uni, which covered all aspects of writing for the media. Copywriting was one of those aspects.
However, initially, I was hooked by script writing for feature films.
Skip a few years later, which included a successful decade running my own hospitality businesses, I started to write again during COVID – which wasn’t great for the hospitality industry.
So, stuck with a few failing businesses during COVID, I started to write feature film scripts again. Studying the art of writing and story rekindled my love for the craft.
Anyhow, I knew, at some point soon, the world would open back up and I’d return to drag my slumbering businesses back from the gutter.
But, something had changed. COVID made me realise I was done with the hospitality industry. I wanted something new…
What? Well, that was up for debate. One thing I did know, monetising writing film scripts was a long shot.
So, how could I monetise my natural flair for writing?
A quick Google search later, I re-discovered copywriting.
And, I’ve been a committed student of copywriting since that day.
