Q1. Where are you from?
Melbourne, Australia
Q2. How did you discover copywriting?
Even though I studied both creative writing and business at university… I actually discovered copywriting through a friend. He’s another copywriter in Australia who took me under his wing way back in 2018 to help with his overflowing workload.
Q3. What forms of copy do you write?
I love writing emails (doesn’t every copywriter?) and Facebook ad copy too. I’ve also gotten into on-page SEO and blog writing a lot recently.
Q4. What are your favorite niches to write in?
Ecommerce, real estate, finance, coaches/consultants.
Q5. What is the #1 lesson you've learned as a copywriter?
Proof is a powerful persuasive element. If your copy doesn’t include it, you’re fighting an uphill battle.
Q6. Who is your favorite copywriter & why?
Can I name myself? Haha just kidding. Probably Rob Allen at the moment but it’s always changing.
Q7. Do you have any recent wins to share?
Recently I wrote and designed the most successful Klaviyo campaign ever for a 7-figure per year Ecommerce business, which was cool. Also it sounds funny but finally launching my website, thecopybrothers.com, was a win because I’ve been putting it off for ages. My brother and I (he’s also a copywriter) did everything ourselves which was an awesome learning experience
Q8. What would you say to a prospective client who wants to hire you?
If you sell a product or service that’s genuinely useful and has some great proof, get in touch for a chat! If you don’t, please find another copywriter.
Q9. What is a good email address for prospective clients to contact you?
lee@thecopybrothers.com
