Q1. Where are you from?

Pakistan

Q2. How did you discover copywriting?

I’ve been writing for more than five years but I came to know about copywriting last year. You won’t believe when I say, I didn’t know the difference between content and copywriting until I stumbled upon a few posts on LinkedIn differentiating one from the other. That’s when I started digging deeper. I binge watched YouTube videos, started following industry experts (Alex Cattoni mostly ;) ), and tada, I was into copywriting before I knew it.

Q3. What forms of copy do you write?

I loved to write blog posts, but I find email copywriting really intriguing. I am still trying to get the hang of it but yes, emails, Facebook ads, product descriptions, brand stories, social media captions (short form mostly) are what I love to write.

Q4. What are your favorite niches to write in?

Parenting, relationship, health and wellness, home improvement, spirituality and DIY.

Q5. What is the #1 lesson you've learned as a copywriter?

Put in time and effort. Learn new skills and techniques. Stay who you are and tell authentic stories.

Q6. Who is your favorite copywriter & why?

There are many but Alex Cattoni, Lana Sova, and Shahzad Khan are some of the names I follow religiously. I love Alex’s frank and casual tone, absolutely amazed by Lana’s engaging emails and Shahzad is my teacher so I have no choice but follow him.

Q7. Do you have any recent wins to share?

While I was taking the 6-figure copywriting workshop, we were assigned to write an email sequence. I was still struggling on Upwork and was submitting proposals like crazy. It was a coincidence that I got an email writing project on Upwork. I wrote a sequence of 6 emails and submitted the same as my assingment. Mark Kington (The Cope Father) was “Marking” the assignments and I was pretty nervous. Well, and this is what he said, “I like the structure and flow of this sequence and they are pretty well written. I’ve shared a few tweaks to help you improve them but over all this was a great job, well done!” I was on cloud 9 and cherry on top, I got a 5 star review from the client. This is just the beginning!!! Am I bragging???

Q8. What would you say to a prospective client who wants to hire you?

I am still new but I am adamant on getting there. There will be a time when you will brag about the projects you did with me :)

Q9. What is a good email address for prospective clients to contact you?

madiha.junaid@hotmail.com
