Q1. Where are you from?

Tamilnadu, South India

Q2. How did you discover copywriting?

Back in my 12th standard, my English teacher told an urban legend. There is a Talcum power brand called “Ponds.” My teacher told that for the copywriter who came up with the tagline “Dreamflower Talc,” the company gave a real Godfather offer. Just for coining those TWO words, Ponds was ready to build a home anywhere in India. No matter which location the copywriter asked for, they were ready to build a home. I was FASCINATED. I felt that was a cool job. ???? So after graduating as a visual communication student, I decided to pursue copywriting as I was interested in writing. I joined an ad agency as a junior copywriter. That’s how I got involved in copywriting. It was because of my English teacher. ????

Q3. What forms of copy do you write?

Landing Pages, Sales Pages, Emails, Ads, VLC, Website Copy, Video Scripts, Blogs – I’ve written almost all kinds of copy except those Agora style long form sales pages lol (haven’t written them so far!)

Q4. What are your favorite niches to write in?

Health and Wellness Personal Development Education DTC Brands

Q5. What is the #1 lesson you've learned as a copywriter?

#1 Lesson I learned as a copywriter is to embrace feedback. Whether it’s from other copy chiefs or directly from the market…without getting feedback for our copy we won’t be able to grow FAST and also understand what works and what doesn’t work with our target audience. Besides, the ONLY way to deliver great results to clients is to keep optimising the copy until we get a conversion breakthrough. So we have get feedback from our target audience too. So IMO, feedback is oxygen for a copywriter as well as for businesses to thrive. And I would consider this as the #1 lesson I learnt as a copywriter.

Q6. Who is your favorite copywriter & why?

Mark Pescetti – He is my absolute favourite copywriter. Because of his unconventional approach to copywriting. I read him saying that, “The MORE people you help, the MORE money you can make!” He emphasizes more on helping others, using vibrational energy to write copy, and more importantly, being ethical in what we write. Besides, his copywriting skills are GOD-level. So I just ADORE him! Mark, if you ever get to read this interview, I just want to THANK YOU for being the person you are and also for generously helping me whenever I message you!

Q7. Do you have any recent wins to share?

Yes, I have a few recent wins to share. 1. A recent sales page I wrote for a new offer is converting at 18% from warm and cold traffic. ????Niche: Alternative healthcare ????Product: Low-Ticket Monthly Membership Program ???? Revenue Generated: $21,814 within 30 days (and counting more) 2. A product description for a DTC Brand got a 10-20% uplift in conversions for their Amazon best-seller just by changing the bullet points 3. A landing page copy for Engrip.com delivers a 28.02% conversion rate consistently for more than a year. The bounce rate dropped from 80% to 2.92% (It’s a bit old win, but still I’m proud of this one as it was my first win)

Q8. What would you say to a prospective client who wants to hire you?

If you are a conscious entrepreneur who is >> Already convinced about what good copywriting can do for your business >> Open-minded to testing new ideas and angles >> Willing to implement my copy as it is and trust my expertise >> Cool with sharing the results you get from my copy Then, I would LOVE to work with you. P.S. I’m always open to your feedback. But before the copy goes live on the market, I would like to see it and approve it. Otherwise, I will not take responsibility for the copy. Because more than the money, it’s the results I get from copy that make me jump out of my bed every single day. Maybe, the desire to drink ginger tea too! lol :)

Q9. What is a good email address for prospective clients to contact you?

manikrsna@gmail.com
