Q1. Where are you from?
Brisbane, Australia
Q2. How did you discover copywriting?
I started a business and had no idea about marketing… So I had to learn. What became very evident to me was how critical brand and messaging were for the success of a business. At the time I didn’t know of any copywriters (especially any DR copywriters). So, I learned how to do it myself. During the learning process, I fell in love with marketing and writing copy… So much so that I shut down my health and fitness business to pursue copywriting and marketing instead.
Q3. What forms of copy do you write?
Both long and short, video scripts and text. I became highly obsessed with email marketing a few years ago and managing brand lists is still a big part of what I mainly do now
Q4. What are your favorite niches to write in?
Health – I have been in the health industry for over 12 years now. I still have a deep passion for inspiring others to take better care of themselves. This year I have ventured out and have been writing in the make money online niche and business coaches and loving it too.
Q5. What is the #1 lesson you've learned as a copywriter?
Hooks and angles matter – no matter how great a product is… If the client cannot see themselves in their own mind using the product, they will never buy it. Sometimes it just takes a different hook or angle to lure them in
Q6. Who is your favorite copywriter & why?
I feel like I should say one of the greats… But in all honesty, my favorite writers are the ones who have directly impacted me and my ability to write better. Some really well-known, and some not so well-known. Like, Stefan Georgi, Luke Mills, Mario Castelli, Connor Inch, Pauline Longdon, Anthony Metivier, Mike Abramov, just to name a few
Q7. Do you have any recent wins to share?
Some big wins from this year include: – $105K month revenue from email only for a make-money online coach (highest month to date) – $34K from a 6-email launch for a nutrition coach – Taking 2 brands from $0/month to consistent months of over 10K from implementing email marketing – Beat an FB ad control that was unbeatable for over 2 years – Wrote emails for Stefan Georgi – Also compiled over 1100 hooks and angles for Stefan’s personal social media content – Helped a handful of new businesses to set up better nurturing sequences and increase the lifetime value (in some cases by over 500%) of their customers. – Coached a small mastermind (30-40 people) of online fitness business owners to better marketing practices (both organic and paid)
Q8. What would you say to a prospective client who wants to hire you?
