Q1. Where are you from?
Devon
Q2. How did you discover copywriting?
My dad was a copywriter back in the day, so it’s in the blood!
Q3. What forms of copy do you write?
Web copy, articles, press releases – plus a whole lot more. I also specialise in brand positioning and tone of voice, key messaging and content strategy.
Q4. What are your favorite niches to write in?
I’ve written for most niches but I do particularly enjoy anything in the music/arts/events space.
Q5. What is the #1 lesson you've learned as a copywriter?
Great writing is about clarity – getting the message across. There is a misconception that anyone who’s good at creative writing can be a copywriter, and I see a lot of laboured, flowery writing dressed up as copywriting. I think it’s far more important to have a good understanding of sales and marketing.
Q6. Who is your favorite copywriter & why?
I have to say my dad – Chris Dunn. Everything I’ve learned and achieved in writing has been built on the solid foundations of what he taught me. He’s the finest wordsmith I know.
Q7. Do you have any recent wins to share?
You’re only ever as good as your last job. But I have a list of happy clients and lots of word-of-mouth referrals which always feels like a win.
Q8. What would you say to a prospective client who wants to hire you?
I’ll challenge you as much as I’ll support you, purely because I want to help your messaging be the absolute best it can be. But I’ll be nice about it!
Q9. What is a good email address for prospective clients to contact you?
