Q1. Where are you from?
Michigan
Q2. How did you discover copywriting?
For as long as I can remember, I have always known that I was supposed to write for a living. I have big gifts when it comes to writing. Both of my degrees are writing-related and before I became a copywriter, I was a 6th-grade English/ Writing teacher near the Navajo Nation in New Mexico. I also used to teach poetry workshops in a men’s prison. While I loved writing, for the longest time the idea of copywriting put a bad taste in my mouth because I couldn’t stomach the idea of selling things I didn’t believe in. Starting my own copywriting business has given me the freedom and flexibility to only write for businesses that I believe in wholeheartedly. I specialize in writing for holistic wellness and spiritual businesses. Words are my tool, my contribution to the sea change we are currently experiencing as we rise above the hot mess of this capitalistic, consumeristic world. I believe we built this world and we are perfectly capable of building a better one. I work with other entrepreneurs who are doing just that
Q3. What forms of copy do you write?
I write sales letters, email sequences, blogs, and social media captions. I also repurpose videos into social media captions, lead magnets, and full-length books.
Q4. What are your favorite niches to write in?
I write for businesses that are building a different world– many holistic wellness and spiritual businesses as well as permaculture and nature-based businesses. I specialize in copy that sells to ‘high vibe’ buyers.
Q5. What is the #1 lesson you've learned as a copywriter?
Ask good questions and listen thoughtfully.
Q6. Who is your favorite copywriter & why?
It really depends on the niche. I appreciate copywriters who are heart and human-centered (and folks who write with a lot of voice.)
Q7. Do you have any recent wins to share?
My sales pages have increased conversions by up to 15% with no other changes to the rest of the funnel. Even my clients with tiny lists have sold thousands and thousands of dollars from a single email. I’ve been told my copy was a “Cinderella story.”
Q8. What would you say to a prospective client who wants to hire you?
.If you are looking for a grounded, heart-centered copywriter who can make the mystical/transcendent relatable and tangible in a way that sells, let’s chat. I have an extremely nuanced understanding of selling to buyers in high emotional states, which also sets me apart from many copywriters. My copy is energetically based. In an intuitive way, I understand when to follow the marketing “rules” and when to chart a different path based on an entrepreneur’s unique approach and magnetism. Additionally, I bring marketing strategy to everything I do and my clients have told me that they feel like I am the first copywriter who was really “on their team.” I thrive at analyzing the big picture in a deeply supportive way in order to help businesses find and sustain success.
Q9. What is a good email address for prospective clients to contact you?
