Q1. Where are you from?

Windsor, ON, Canada

Q2. How did you discover copywriting?

Through writing on the blog platform ‘Medium’.

Q3. What forms of copy do you write?

Strictly Emails (Welcome, Up-sell, Abandoned Cart Sequences. Also broadcast emails).

Q4. What are your favorite niches to write in?

Fitness (boxing, combat, weight lifting, supplements), Nursing (I’m an ER nurse), Mental Health, Men’s Grooming, and Dating/Relationships.

Q5. What is the #1 lesson you've learned as a copywriter?

Write for your target audience, not for yourself. They don’t give a damn if you like the product or not.

Q6. Who is your favorite copywriter & why?

Ben Settle – the man pulls no punches, is a contrarian, and appeals to his audience more because of that.

Q7. Do you have any recent wins to share?

Total beginner – however, I was on a general discovery call with an E-com candle store owner. I told her to get rid of a meaningless photo in the ‘hero shot’, post more frequently on Instagram/link back to her site, and create a Google Business Profile. She ended up getting a few sales right after, and I up-sold her during a second call to implement a lead magnet + welcome sequence for her website.

Q8. What would you say to a prospective client who wants to hire you?

The delicious offer I have on my website for a ‘qualified’ lead – “How would you like to increase monthly revenue for your E-com store by 10K-30K/month store risk-free?”

Q9. What is a good email address for prospective clients to contact you?

steven@tryvrecicemailcopywriting.com
