Q1. Where are you from?
Bakersfield, Ca
Q2. How did you discover copywriting?
I had just gotten laid off and my son was about 3 months away from being born. I felt stuck, unsure of what I should I do next or if I’d even be successful at whatever I tried next. So I picked up a book called The Education of Millionaires about the 7 skills that all self-made Millionaires master. One of the skills he mentioned was copywriting. I was so intrigued, I went and studied everything I could after that.
Q3. What forms of copy do you write?
I write web copy and emails for small businesses and infopreneurs.
Q4. What are your favorite niches to write in?
I love working with coaches and consultants. The work they do is so important to society and often times they have great offers and just don’t know how to market them. I want to help them focus on serving people and let me get the word out for them!
Q5. What is the #1 lesson you've learned as a copywriter?
When I was starting off I focused on all the tactics of persuasion and formulas and what not. While it’s cool to know, nothing beats knowing your customer. Nothing is more persuasive than knowing them and using the language that they use to talk about their pain, frustration, desires and goals.
Q6. Who is your favorite copywriter & why?
My favorite copywriter by far is Frank Kern. His approach to copy is so simple but effective because there’s no gimmicks or click bait. It’s simply helping prospects by showing them how much you can help them.
Q7. Do you have any recent wins to share?
I took time away from marketing to focus on investing but couldn’t resist my love to get back into it. I’ve only been doing client acquisition for about a month I’ve already gotten 4 solid copy projects and have added Email List Managment to my offers.
Q8. What would you say to a prospective client who wants to hire you?
Honestly, I’d probably sing Biz Markies Just a friend to them and ask them if they’re ready to go from just a friend to partners on getting their business life changing conversions.
Q9. What is a good email address for prospective clients to contact you?
