Q1. Where are you from?

UK and Germany

Q2. How did you discover copywriting?

I moved from the UK to Germany and couldn’t work as a pharmacist in retail as I had been for 7 years – so I needed to find an alternative and got into medical copywriting online. Now I work from home full time as a medical copywriter.

Q3. What forms of copy do you write?

Landing pages, FAQs, emails, blogs, online learning courses, product descriptions and data sheets

Q4. What are your favorite niches to write in?

Digital health, anything medical and health related. I also write about course creation.

Q5. What is the #1 lesson you've learned as a copywriter?

Simple words and clear communication is key.

Q6. Who is your favorite copywriter & why?

Dan Nelken, because of his book, “A self-help guide for copywriters”

Q7. Do you have any recent wins to share?

Definitely creating a vibrant community on LinkedIn for medical copywriters, plus releasing 5 courses on Udemy to help medical writers. I’m now working on Write Clinic with Hassan Thwaini (who’s also a brilliant and hilarious writer) which is a mega course on the fundamentals of medical writing.

Q8. What would you say to a prospective client who wants to hire you?

I love to immerse myself in a brand and get to know everyone in your team, so I can communicate the benefits of your product or service with your audience effectively. I also love user research – the most effective way to know you’re communicating with your audience well is to test how you’re communicating. I’m easy to work with and enjoy receiving feedback to really nail what you want to achieve – sales, sales, sales!

Q9. What is a good email address for prospective clients to contact you?

virginiamedicalwriter@gmail.com
