I was always interested in writing and creative expression, but it wasn’t until I stumbled upon a job posting for a copywriter that I realized this career path existed. I applied on a whim and ended up landing the job, and from there, I was hooked. Through my work as a copywriter, I discovered a passion for crafting compelling messaging and honing my writing skills to communicate effectively with my audience. A serendipitous discovery led me down an exciting and fulfilling career path.
Q3. What forms of copy do you write?
I specialize in writing sales letters, email marketing campaigns, social media posts, product descriptions, and blogs for different websites. My approach is to always write with the customer in mind and aim to create a sense of urgency so that they make a purchase as soon as possible.
Q4. What are your favorite niches to write in?
I enjoy writing about tech, marketing, automobiles, crypto, blockchain, and sports-related topics.
Q5. What is the #1 lesson you've learned as a copywriter?
The #1 lesson I’ve learned as a copywriter is the importance of understanding the target audience. Whether it’s writing an email campaign or a website landing page, it’s crucial to know who the message is being written for and tailor the language and tone to them. The copy can be inauthentic or irrelevant without understanding the audience, leading to a lack of engagement or conversion. Understanding the audience allows for a more targeted and effective message, leading to better results.
Q6. Who is your favorite copywriter & why?
My favorite copywriter is Brian Clark. He believed in the power of research and used it to inform his writing, creating campaigns that truly spoke to the needs and desires of his target audience. I admire his dedication to producing high-quality work and his ability to create messaging that stood the test of time. He was a pioneer in the industry, and his legacy inspires copywriters today.
Q7. Do you have any recent wins to share?
As a copywriter, I recently had a win where I was able to successfully reposition a SPORTS FLOORING company’s messaging to target its desired audience better. The company had been struggling to gain traction in its industry and was unsure how to market itself effectively. After conducting market research and analyzing their competitors, I crafted a new messaging strategy that resonated with their target audience and helped them stand out in a crowded market. The results were impressive, with a significant increase in website traffic and sales inquiries. I’m proud of this win and am always looking for ways to push myself and my clients to the next level.
Q8. What would you say to a prospective client who wants to hire you?
As a copywriter, I would tell a prospective client that I am an experienced professional with a proven track record of creating compelling and effective copy for various industries. I understand how to craft messaging that speaks to the target audience and elicits the desired response. I am also skilled at researching and writing on a wide range of topics and can adapt my writing style to fit the tone and voice of any brand.
